Your garage and service history
Vehicle details, VINs, mileage, service records, costs, notes and reminder settings are saved on your device. Quartwise does not require a user account. The current app does not provide a Freshpath cloud backup or sync service.
Vehicle lookups
When you decode a VIN, Quartwise sends that VIN to the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's vPIC service. Looking up a model list sends the make and model year. These requests require an internet connection and expose ordinary connection information, such as your IP address, to the receiving service.

Service-log notes, costs and your contact details are not included in these vehicle lookup requests.
Reminders, exports and backups
Maintenance reminders use notifications scheduled on your device with your permission. You can change notification permission in iPhone Settings.
When you export a service-history PDF or a backup, you choose where to save or share it using your iPhone. Those files can contain your vehicle and service information. Any service you choose to receive a file handles it under its own terms.
Advertising and analytics
The current Quartwise app contains no advertising or third-party analytics service and does not use advertising identifiers to track you across apps or websites.
Your choices and support
You can edit or remove information in the app and choose whether to export a backup. Removing the app can remove its locally saved data; files you exported and device backups are separate copies.
If you email apps@freshpathstudio.com, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. Use that address for privacy questions or requests about information you have sent us. Do not send a full vehicle-history export unless it is needed for your request.
